How does messaging work in WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is a real-time messaging application, which makes use of Ejabberd (XMPP) server. This server facilitates instant message transfer between two or many users at any given second.

Ejabberd is a Rock Solid, Massively Scalable, Infinitely Extensible XMPP Server, written mainly in the Erlang programming language.

Ejabberd (http://www.ejabberd.im/) is the parent, this is XMPP server which provides quite good features of open source, Whatsapp uses some modified version of this, facebook

Messaging also uses a modified version of this. Some more chat applications likes Samsung's
ChatOn, Nimbuzz messenger all use ejabberd based ones and Erlang solutions also have modified version of this ejabberd which they claim to be highly scalable and well tested with more performance improvements and renamed as MongooseIM.

Ejabberd is the server which has most of the featured implemented when compared to other. Since it is built in Erlang it is highly scalable horizontally.

For the database management Mnesia DB comes into play. Mnesia is a multiuser distributed DBMS which happens to be the default DB of ERLANG. Thus by using Mnesia, the app is able to achieve quicker request responses, thereby improving the overall efficiency.

FreeBSD is the operating system upon which WhatsApp is laid upon. Improvising on the ERLANG based applications and optimizing FreeBSD, WhatsApp is able to achieve better throughput. For storing multimedia files, the app uses an exclusive web server YAWS.

Improvement and Suggestion Area in Indian Education System

Can anybody suggest me an educational blog in India, where student and teachers can interact with each other regularly in real?

A subject teacher teaches his subject in a class using any board but this is not possible to make it electronic in Indian schools. We have subject expertise teacher in every school but have not proper resources to make it digitize.

Is this important to make content digitize? What we want to make in Indian schools?

As a suggestion on the behalf of Digital World Computer, we suggest that this is spoon feeding work for Indian schools and if they want they will create history.

Where we get content for digitization?

It is the easiest part because already we have subject expertise in each school. Now, we give resources to make his content online.

Subject teacher teaches his content every day in a practical way. Teachers have to make live video of teaching class and write a summary article on it. At a day end every subject teacher has its unique digital content. Now he can upload his content on his personal blog.

So, every person can read his content through his personal blog. This will make a big change in Indian Education System. Because everybody knows what the teacher teaches in today class either it is parents, students, higher authority or students belong to other school.

These notes can be stored for a long time. There is no restriction to remove older post and it is totally free.
